NFL: Conference Championship Notes - Game 2

Seattle 34 Carolina 14
The Seahawks have figured out how to win big games this year. That’s the big news in this game as the Panthers, who have big game experience, couldn’t quite get things going tonight against a team that has not been able to do much in the playoffs for what seems like an eternity. Congrats to the Seahawks who were one of seven remaining NFL teams that have not been to a Super Bowl.
The key in this game revolved around both team’s running games. The Seahawks had theirs going strong, and the Panthers didn’t. Shaun Alexander rushed for a playoff franchise record 132 yards and two touchdowns. Yes…It isn’t that big of a deal that Alexander broke a Seahawks’ playoff record, but it was a big deal that he bounced back from a concussion last week to play well against a usually stout Panthers’ defense.
It will be interesting to see if the Seahawks can take out the surging Steelers in the Super Bowl. It will be even more interesting to even see them there. I will certainly be rooting for them. I will return with more coverage on Super Bowl XL in the near future. For now, count me in as a temporary bandwagon Seahawks’ fan.
