King Choker?

I’m a huge Cavs’ fan so what I’m seeing lately is depressing. LeBron James has failed again to lead the Cavs to a close victory over a decent team after missing a crucial free throw that would tie the game against the Denver Nuggets last night. How many times does this have to happen for this team to get over the hump and start playing like a true playoff contender? The Cavs have lost 5 straight games and the theme stayed true at the end of each one: They had a chance to win and they couldn’t get the job done.

On the bright side, this team is keeping almost all their games close, and it can be said that they are a good team that probably won’t miss the playoffs this year. But the close game losses are very disturbing with these guys and I’ve yet to see LeBron hit a true game winner. Sure he’s only 21, but the guy has already proven to be years ahead of his age when it comes to every other facet of the game.

Keeping it simple, the Cavs need to start getting it done down the stretch and in the clutch to ever have much of a chance of going deep in the playoffs. These kinds of games will be commonplace in the playoffs and not getting it done in the clutch could easily put them 4 games and out. On the bright side, it’s good to see them play these types of games constantly, because with enough experience, maybe they’ll get their heads out of their asses and figure it out before the playoffs start.

Looking at the way you put it, I would have to agree. LeBron needs to elevate his game when it counts. He's done everything else up to this point. He just needs to have the confidence to stick the shots in the clutch. I would hope he gets to that point sometime in the future.
