Go Cavs

It's been discussed all over the internet already so I'm late to the game. LeBron James and the Cavs have started their playoff run in style by burying the Wizards for their opening playoff victory to start the 7 game series. As the Cavs get extra time to prepare for game 2, thanks to the NBA's retarded playoff schedule, it's important for them to realize that Game 1 was Game 1. Game 2 is going to be a completely different animal. It's important for coach Mike Brown to get this point across to the players who haven't been in this situation. You better be prepared for a more focused Wizards team this time around. If you rest on your laurels from Game 1, you're going to find yourself in an even playoff series going to DC. The Wizards aren't going to go play like that again.

What was the most overlooked story in Game 1? Eric Snow. I work with some Cavs' fans, and we all came to the same conclusion going into the playoffs: Eric Snow is a turd. All of us thought that Eric Snow would provide nothing on the offensive end in the playoffs and he would be a weak link. What happened? Eric Snow provided 14 points (tying a season high), and provided a nice secondary scoring option. He came up huge and limited Damon Jones' minutes as he helped off-set the 1 for 9 shotting performance by SG Larry Hughes.

Game 2 will most likely require another big secondary scoring option as Eric Snow surely can't repeat his performance can he? We'll soon see. What may be more important is that the Cavs need to continue to do what they can to help cool off the 3 headed attack of Antawn Jamison, Caron Butler, and Gilbert Arenas. They did a good job on 2 of the 3 in game 1 (Arenas still scored). Can they do that again?
