Butch Davis....Draft Expert

Here's a quick fun tidbit. Anyone with the NFL Network had to get a kick out of Butch Davis offering his opinions on the upcoming NFL Draft this past week during their draft preview. This is a guy who was pretty bad at drafting players for the Browns. Once they had to clear veterans off the roster because of the cap, his players didn't step up.

So I was surprised Butch didn't offer the wise piece of advice to GMs and coaches all around the league: Ignore your scouts and go with your gut instinct and you too will have a player like Gerard Warren instead of Richard Seymour.

I look at this way...Having Butch Davis on as a Draft analyst is like putting Dwight Gooden in charge of the war on drugs. It just doesn't make any sense. Does the NFL Network have any idea how hard the Cleveland fans are laughing at that right now, or are they doing it as an inside joke? That will remain a mystery for now.
